SHAREit is the most popular multi-platform sharing app from Lenovo. It works on WiFi compatible devices which are running on Android, Windows, Mac, Windows Phone and iOS platforms. SHAREit enables us to share files, photos, videos, music, contacts, apps and any other files using local WiFi connection. Even though it is one of the most stable apps, it does misbehave at some times when you try to share files across devices of different platforms or may be between devices of same OS. The reasons can be many but here I have posted most of the common SHAREit errors on PC. Lets see all of them below.
SHAREit has stopped working on Windows 10, 7, 8.1/8 – Issues with PC Hotspot
This is the most common issue that you will see, issue with PC hotspot. Everything will be working fine until the next day when you try to connect to SHAREit on your PC. In some cases, SHAREit hotspot will be created on your PC but it will be blank and you will never be able to connect to that hotspot from Phone. After an extensive research, finally you will find out that a nightly Windows patch updates has just reset your PC network drivers!! This is most common reason why your PC hotspot doesnt work for SHAREit file transfer.
To fix this drivers issue, one hard way is to completely reset your Windows PC to factory settings, then update your PC with all the patches and reinstall SHAREit. But one simple workaround is to rollback WiFi drivers to the previous version with which your SHAREit was working fine. For example, the WiFi driver will look like this “Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 2230“. Sometimes, you can also try Disabling and then Enabling WiFi adapter to fix this issue. You can find the list of adapters here Control PanelNetwork and InternetNetwork and Sharing Center and then click on Change Adapter Settings on the left panel. Here you can see WiFi adapter, just right click on it and Disable it and then right click on it and Enable it.
Before doing above steps, just make sure that you have installed the latest version of SHAREit app. If not, please update SHAREit and they try again to connect to SHAREit hotspot.
SHAREit doesnt work on Windows 10 PC ? SHAREit Hotspot Problem
Just for the clarification, if you are trying to share files from one PC to another PC via SHAREit, you can use either SHAREit hotspot or the WiFi connection(LAN). You can connect to the hotspot created by another PC or in the other case you just have to make sure that both the PCs are in the same LAN(Local Area Network) or make sure that both PCs are connected to same WiFi.
If you are trying to share files from PC to Phone or from Phone to PC, you can either create an hotspot on your PC or you can also connect to the hotspot created on your Phone. One of the most common errors that you will face while trying to initiate hotspot is “Hotspot initialization failed“. You will see this error especially when you turn on SHAREit hotspot in PC. Cant open SHAREit – SHAREit not opening on windows 10
What if SHAREit wont open on PC when you want to transfer files urgently to your mobile? I know how frustrating itll be because I have faced this will few other apps as well. One quick workaround is to uninstall and reinstall it. Download SHAREit setup file, right click on it and click on Run as Administrator option. Sometimes SHAREit wont open if resource utilization is high on your PC, just open Task Manager and check CPU, Memory and Disk utilization. If everything is fine and still SHAREit not opening on Windows 10 PC, then reinstall it.
If you receive the error Cant open SHAREit, before reinstalling SHAREit, open Task Manager and check if SHAREit is already running. If yes, just click on SHAREit in Task Manager under Processes and click on End Task.

SHAREit not receiving files on PC
Sometimes when you try to transfer files to PC, you will see an error, file transfer failed because of network failure. This is a usual error that many of SHAREit users will get especially when transferring files from mobile phone to PC, that too especially from iOS device to PC.
This is not a serious error, you can just close SHAREit and reconnect to mobile hotspot and try again to transfer files. This will work. I have faced personally faced this issue and this trick worked pretty fine.
SHARE it app will not Connect
When you try to connect to SHAREit PC hotspot, sometimes SHAREit app will not connect from your Phone. To avoid this, make sure that you have disconnected your WiFi connection and Mobile Data on your Phone. An active WiFi connection wont let you connect to SHAREit PC hotspot.
There is one more trick that you can try, this trick is the right drug for many of the network related issues. If SHAREit app will not connect to hotspot, then turn on Airplane mode on your Phone and then turn off it. Now try to connect to SHAREit hotspot on PC. I am sure that this trick will work for you. You can also reset Network Settings on your Phone as this will also work for some. You can also try restarting SHAREit on PC if above tricks wont work for you.
SHAREit not opening on Windows 10, 8, 8,1, 7 – “network error”
While transferring files from iOS device to PC, most frequently, you will face “Network error”. You can see this error on your PC in SHAREit app. This might be because of lower version of SHAREit app. I can see from SHAREit forums that this issue has been resolved after upgrading SHAREit to v4.0.6.177. If your current version of SHAREit on Windows PC is not this, then go to SHAREit App, click on three horizontal lines on top right, then click on About and click on Check for updates button.
SHAREit cannot broadcast signal
When you try to initiate SHAREit hotspot, sometimes you will receive the error which says SHAREit cannot broadcast signal. This means that SHAREit is currently unable to initiate hotspot and broadcast signal. To fix this, please make sure that your PC is disconnected from an active WiFi connection. This is the reason many times, you forgot to disconnect WiFi connection and tries to initiate hotspot on SHAREit app.
